Myofascial Cupping
What is it?
Myofascial cupping uses suction cups to create negative pressure on the skin, promoting healing of the tissues. It does this by separating the different layers of tissue (muscle, fascia etc) to allow for better blood flow and lymphatic drainage which is key for recovery. Cupping is not painful, however, it will often leave circular marks that look similar to bruises for days to weeks after being performed.
How it helps
✔ Increases blood flow
✔ Improved lymphatic drainage
✔ Reduced muscle soreness
Beneficial for:
Fascial Dysfunctions
Post-exercise Recovery
Tendonitis/Bursitis
Who is it for?
Myofascial cupping is suitable for most people if necessary!
Is it Painful?
Cupping is generally not painful, but you may feel a firm pulling sensation during treatment. Some people experience mild, temporary skin discolouration (pink or purple marks) where the cups were placed—this is normal and usually fades within a few days. It’s a gentle, non-invasive technique that can be adjusted to suit your comfort level and specific needs. Your osteopath will always check in with you and adjust the intensity to keep you comfortable.
